The Devil Wears Prada reinforced the public’s perception of the fashion industry as a harsh, vacuous environment full of judgemental, nasty girls. I’m pleased to report that nice girls don’t always come last and there is a place for friendship in fashion. Hill & Friends launched during LFW, founded by Emma Hill (former creative director at Mulberry) and Georgia Fendley. The core principle is team work, a great brand unites individuals to achieve one common goal….. and the results are impressive.
Claridges hosted the presentation/launch, the hotel was transformed into a pink palace of goodness. Miniature ponies, cookies, candy, beautiful blooms and pink champagne filled the hotel with a ‘feel-good’ vibe. Bellboys dressed in pink uniforms carried the collection. Highlights included leopard print totes and happy pink chain bags. All featured Hill & Friends quirky, smily face lock.
Emma & Georgia
After all the LFW madness finished, I caught up with Georgia to ask her a few questions.
1. I chose a career in branding/communication because….
My parents are both designers, it was a very natural choice for me – I don’t think I’m any good at anything else!
2. What I love most about my job is…..
The people I work with and the fun we have.
3. If I could start my career again I would….
Not sweat the small stuff and spend more time with my kids.
4. Above all else I value….
My family and my values.
5. This year is all about….
Doing the right thing!
