A couple of weeks ago I took a much needed holiday to Congham Hall Spa. I’ve stayed there before, it’s the perfect hideaway and so relaxing. I still can’t quite figure out how they make it pay because there never seems to be many people there? Perhaps because the hotel is set in 30 acres, there’s lots of places to sit back and relax with a glass of Pimms and a good book from the library, it feels like there’s more space than the actually is? Whatever the reason I’m not complaining, it’s one of the advantages of staying in a smaller hotel- your not overwhelmed with noisy holiday makers.
We stayed in the Dandelion suite on the first floor with it’s own private balcony. I felt like Lady Mary in Downton Abbey, sitting out surveying my estate, while the staff prepared my lunch. After lunch I popped down to the spa for a pot of Leighton Denny’s nail varnish. Painting your nails in the afternoon seems quite frivolous (it’s usually a quick coat while I’m watching Eastenders), but that’s what holidays are all about- doing the things you don’t have time to do normally. Emerald green isn’t a shade I often wear but the shimmering metallic shards caught my eye and I like to mix it up occasionally.
