So many blogger awards have popped up recently it’s hard to tell the real from the fake. While it’s always nice to be appreciated, it’s becoming increasing difficult to sift through all the blogger competitions to find the ones that really matter. Winning a Fashion & Beauty Monitor Journalism Award is a big deal. The competition is fierce and judged by a panel of industry experts without bias towards any publication/author. Just being nominated means you’re a darn good journalist.
Yesterday the 2014 shortlist was released and I’m not surprised to see Tilly Macalister-Smith has been nominated for Online Fashion Journalist/Blogger of the Year for her sterling work at MATCHESFASHION.COM. The Style Report is a relativity new addition to MATCHESFASHION.COM which I particularly enjoy reading while doing a spot of shopping. I’m a tiny bit disappointed that bloggers didn’t feature in many of the other categories, which is a shame because (and not that I’m biased or anything) bloggers work exceptionally hard, with little funding to produce informative and imaginative content.
Congrats to all the nominees and best of luck!
