Mulberry Delight

Mulberry hosted their S/S13 catwalk show in London last week, as my regular readers will know I’m rather fond of Mulberry and this was one show I just had to see. Naturally each model carried a little slice of Mulberry heaven (expect to see Mulberry handbags swinging from the arms of fashion editors come spring) but Emma Hill, creative director at Mulberry added a few surprising additions to the classic heritage brand we know and love.

Lashings of buttery, biscuit leather kicked off the collection in a 70’s groove, teamed with oriental inspired, floral print silk separates adding a softer edge.

The floral theme continued with a range of itzy bitzy prints in apricot, mint and pearly grey,  layer together to create a beautiful english garden. Flippy silk skirts and dresses shimmered and danced down the catwalk alongside perfect pooches.

The collection moved unexpectedly into steely grey, winter white and noir black. Jacquard, silk and leather combined to created a luxurious look. All black or white ensembles provided a strong contrast and shifted the collection from tea party chic to working women who meant business.

The collection concluded with classic Mulberry, sublime blush silk dresses paired with crisp white jackets- I am totally smitten with the whole collection!
